Tanzania Safaris

Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and the wild south — private 4x4s and guides who know the ground.

About Tanzania safaris

A Tanzania safari is why many travellers cross the world: the Serengeti's great migration, Ngorongoro Crater's dense predator population, Tarangire's baobabs and elephant herds, and the near-empty south in Nyerere and Ruaha. We plan safaris the way we'd plan our own — extended-roof Land Cruisers from our own workshop, guides who read tracks and know where the cats rest at midday, camps we've slept in, and pacing that puts you in the parks at first light. Bush and beach combine easily with a short flight to Zanzibar, day safaris to Mikumi or Ngorongoro suit shorter trips, and every safari can run privately, from budget camping to fly-in luxury.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time for a Tanzania safari?
June to October is the classic dry season with the easiest game viewing. The Great Migration river crossings peak in the northern Serengeti between July and September, while calving in the southern Serengeti runs from late January to March.
Can I fly to the Serengeti from Zanzibar?
Yes. Daily scheduled flights connect Zanzibar to Serengeti airstrips via Arusha in around two hours, so you can be on a game drive the same day.
What vehicle will I travel in?
Extended-roof 4x4 Land Cruisers with window seats for every guest, charging points, a cool box and unlimited bottled water.
Are safaris safe for children?
Yes. Most parks and lodges welcome children, and private safaris let you shorten game drives. We advise on family-friendly camps when you enquire.
What is included in the safari price?
Park entry fees, accommodation, all meals on safari, a professional guide, 4x4 with fuel, and drinking water. International flights, visas, tips and personal items are excluded — each safari page lists it clearly.
Do I need vaccinations or malaria prophylaxis?
Yellow fever proof is required if arriving from an endemic country, and malaria prophylaxis is recommended for the parks. Always confirm with your doctor before travel.
